Labelling Your Photos

Fast Approval Tip 1: Give your Images a Descriptive File Name

When you take a picture, your phone will automatically give it a long number as a file name. If you can change that numerical file name to one that describes what the image shows, it really helps us with understanding what we're looking at.

When you're renaming your photos, please include this information:

'Offside' and 'Nearside'

If you are sitting in the car, the passenger's side is nearside (because nearest to the kerb) while the driver's side is offside (furthest away from the kerb).

Specifying Offside or Nearside in the file name makes the claims teams fall in love with you a little bit.

Location of Damage

Close-ups are great for showing damage in detail, but a close up could be of any part of the car.

If you give your close up images name like 'offside rear door' or 'nearside front bumper' the claims team won't need to get back in touch with you to clarify what they're looking at.

Obvious Measurements

If you're asked to provide an image of the damage against a ruler / tape measure, get in close!

If you line the ruler edge right up against the start of damage it makes it easy to see both the damage and measurement when the claims team zoom in.
Please note: We have slightly different photo requirements depending on which insurance product you have.
